This is the first in a series of reproduction post cards from the "McKeen Era," and is a fundraiser to retrieve and restore the McKeen Motor Car No. 1 "Cuyamaca," formerly of the San Diego & Cuyamaca Railway. Currently the car body of the "Cuyamaca" is in Alaska where it has been for the past 70 years. Originally the "Cuyamaca" ran from downtown San Diego to Foster, where one could meet stage connections to Ramona, home of W.T. Kirkman, and points east. The McKeen Motor Car depicted in this reproduction Post Card is the sister to the Cuyamaca, which ran from downtown San Diego to La Jolla on the Los Angeles & San Diego Beach Railway.
